The Chief Executive Officer of IPCC, Mr. Amer Hidmi, participated in an international conference entitled "The Role of Youth in Peace-Building Process" between the 24th of March and the 28th of March 2009.
The conference was held by Centre for Peace Studies in Zagreb Croatia and brought together young people working with youth and peace building related areas in the EU countries, the Mediterranean countries, and South East Europe. The aims of the conference were to initiate a dialogue between young people from the participating countries to discuss issues reacted to peace building and the role of youth in those processes and to develop recommendations regarding this topic that would be advocated in national and international policies and strategies related to youth. For IPCC, the conference provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in peace building related issues and compare the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with the Balkan conflict, as well as establish good relations with possible future partners working with the same topics as IPCC in the Balkan region.
A publication on the results of the conference will be published by the end of April.
